Einstein Academy (formerly Einstein Learning Center) Receives Grant from Bi-Lo

$10,000 Grant to be Used for Scholarships
Einstein Academy (formerly Einstein Learning Center) is proud to have received a $10,000 grant from Bi-Lo Charities, to be used in granting scholarships.  This grant was a part of a larger, $1.2 million gift distributed to 46 Greenville, SC-area organizations addressing children's needs, education, and hunger relief in the local community. All funds donated came from the 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic held this past June in Greenville, which raised a total of more than $4.5 million.

“The mission of BI-LO Charities is to support the children’s charities, education and hunger relief efforts in every community in which BI-LO operates,” said BI-LO Charities Executive Director Carol Browning.   “Our goal is to provide funding for projects that provide meaningful and sustainable change in our communities, and we are honored to partner with organizations that help address critical needs at the local level.”

BI-LO Charity Classic funds were raised through silent and live auctions as well as sponsorships by local businesses and BI-LO’s generous vendor community.

“BI-LO has long been committed to being involved in the communities where we do business,” said BI-LO President and CEO Michael Byars.  “Everyday our store teammates demonstrate the power of leading with their head and with their heart.”

BI-LO Charities also honored grant recipient charities that are part of its boostersplus® program.  Available to any 501(c)3 organization, boostersplus® gives BI-LO customers an opportunity to earmark 1 percent of their total purchases to the participating charity of their choice.  Each charity currently enrolled in the boostersplus® program was put into a drawing to receive an additional $500 in funding.  Additionally, in the BI-LO tradition of savings without sacrifice, BI-LO donated the equivalent of a full tank of gas in fuelperks!® rewards to all of the attending charities to help them cut down on fuel costs.
